Who Am I?

My name is William Forty and I am 23 years old. Since a very early age I have had a bit of a "thing" for music, and my involvement in music has increased as I have aged. When I was in primary school I started to have keyboard lessons, and although the actual lessons ceased after about two or three years, I have been gradually honing my piano playing ever since.

During the final year(s) of secondary school, two friends and I began a bit of singing together for fun. We would try and produce nice three-part harmony in our local subway which would bemuse passing dog-walkers! This started off just as a bit of fun, but turned out to be the catylist for introducing me into the world of singing.

It just so happended that my family had also recently been introduced to the world of singing, and my sister had started having a few singing lessons. After a spontaneous outburst of song in front of my parents, they were apparently impressed and encouraged me to persue the avenue, and I went for my first vocal lesson. My voice teacher happens to also be the managing director of the Kentwood Show Choir, which proved to be a rather neat route to joining. Within the choir I have sang at many venues as both a member of the chorus, and as a soloist.

Influences

I've got quite a sporadic array of influences spanning a whole range of styles. I've been a fan of Tenacious D because they're quite clearly legends, and I'm quite a fan of the Finnish band Sonata Arctica as they have produced some excellent tracks. This only represents a few of my influences, and I really couldn't narrow down my style any further than "random" to be honest... hence, random-music!
